My newest piece has quite a few little details in it so I wanted to post something that would let you have a little sneaky peek at those since the mice are so mini!!
First off, here is the WIP – as you can see… at this point the mice haven’t been done, the wall has only been shaded a little and so on… I tend to sketch my pieces really tiny on paper just in case i decide to add more around it later on. Due to that, the mice look very odd here hehe! (They ended up just being a guide as I could not find a smaller pencil for the sketch details.
Now to compare with the final version… Looks deeper eh? ;D This takes soooo much patience and an incredible amount of layers! – I like to save step by step versions of all my work so I can have a CD of all the files in my portfolio.
Time for the details! Yay!
Here is a blown up version of the Tulips. I should have probably put a little more shading into these but they looked pretty cool as they were. – To all you plant specialists… I’m pretty sure they have faults for tulips
Nevermind hehe! You don’t usually get mice carving a pumpkin either i guess?
A spider!! This got added after the initial sketch. I thought the area in the middle looked a little empty so it needed something?! What better than a friendly spider!
I bet you didn’t realise it had blue eyes before
This little guy obviously went all out on the helping! He is far too full to carry on! What better than to enjoy a little nap after a feast?
You always get adventurous friends! Well… this is the mousy kind! He has travelled deep inside the massive pumpkin to discover the tasty bits! I have to admit, he acts more like a mole.
The hard worker. I guess this one is also a bit of a perfectionist too! We cant have lumps and bumps in the wrong places! He took on the “Boss” role hehe!
Now for the one that will do anything for food! That’s the only reason hes working you know! Well… obviously not while hes munching but you get the idea
I hope he knows things don’t come served on a plate for you! Although, saying that, the insides of the pumpkin might be used for making a pie later.
Last but not least, the little one that inspects everything! “How do I know its not poisonous?! You don’t eat things off the street!” – This guy doesn’t anyway
Far too dangerous!
Well that covers all the details! I hope you have enjoyed your little journey through this blog post hehe! Please leave comments on your favourite character! I’m sure they would want to know they are loved
Hope you like the new one! Thank you for reading!
